DMC Service Team Spotlight: Jeff Carter

DMC Service Team Spotlight: Jeff Carter

Get to know the DMC Service team! One of the best things about us are our awesome team members.

We’ll be shining the spotlight on them on our blog, so you can get to know our team a little better.

In the first of our team spotlights, we interviewed Jeff Carter, one of our highly experienced commercial plumbers who’s been at DMC for six years, about his role and why he enjoys his job.

Jeff Carter

DMC: Hi, Jeff! It’s good to chat. Let’s start at the beginning – how long have you been a plumber?

Jeff Carter: I’ve been a plumber for eleven years. I started my career working with a plumber who was very experienced and had a great book of business, but it was just he and I running the calls and performing the projects. I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn, and when the time came, I knew it was best for my career path to make the move to a larger company. That’s how I became a member of the plumbing team at DMC Service.

DMC: And it’s great to have you here! So, why did you want to be a plumber? Isn’t it a stinky job…?

JC: (Laughs) Sure, plumbing can be smelly and sometimes downright disgusting work…but it’s also very important. Plumbing is not a profession that is going away or is going to be outsourced. Both individuals and companies will always need plumbers to help them with their plumbing issues. I love being a plumber for that stability, and for the challenge. As a commercial plumber, every day brings a new problem to solve and issues to fix. I have a great amount in pride helping people.

DMC: It sounds like being a plumber is a great career choice.

JC: It absolutely is! Besides the satisfaction of knowing I’m helping people, I have a great career that allows me to provide for my family, plus I don’t have the burden of student loans. Plumbers learn on the job through apprenticeships.

DMC: You’ve been a plumber with DMC Service for six years, that’s impressive!

JC: I have! I love working at DMC Service. We have a great team. It’s unusual to work at a company where you genuinely like everyone you work with, so we’re lucky because I can say I really do enjoy everyone. We all strive to deliver with best customer service and highest quality. We really do live out our #brilliantwork promise.

DMC: That’s true, it’s instilled in us all! Ok, can you tell us a bit about yourself?

JC: Sure. I am originally from Kansas City, KS. I’ve been married to my best friend, Stephanie, for seven years. We have two dogs, Tanner and Dakota. I come from a large family and we love to entertain and have friends and family over to our home.

DMC: What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

JC: I’m a part of a competitive BBQ team, the 250MCs. I also enjoy golf, woodworking, and shooting, and I’m a huge Kansas City Royals and Chiefs fan.

DMC: Thanks, Jeff. It was great talking to you.
